The desolate, rain soaked lighthouse stood proud.
jutting out from the highest point of the cliff face beside the raging sea.
The blinding bright yellow beam
Waltzes across the mournful sky
A beacon to guide adrift boats to safety.
to the crew of the stray ships the lighthouse is a symbol of hope & guidance.
They rejoice with happiness when they see land once more.
The restless, endless sea remorselessly crashes onto the beaches by the docks.
All the while the lighthouse stands resolute.
A solitary guardian and saviour to all who work the sea.
